Since my last update, we were all preparing to celebrate Rebecca's 40th birthday. To begin, we were fortunate to be invited to Gad and DeAnn's on Wednesday to have a delightful and scrumptious dinner. Then, on Thursday we spontaneously decided to eat downtown Gateway at Z'Tejas, a southwestern grill. Immediately following dinner we hurried home to share cake and ice cream with her parents.
Although these couple of days seem rather uneventful, this was purposely planned so that a surprise birthday party on Saturdays wouldn't be suspected. In fact, I had mentioned to Rebecca that we would be going on our date night Saturday evening and that I had already arranged for the children to eat dinner at Gramee's house. So when the time came we all hopped into our vehicle and preceded to Gramee's. Rebecca's immediately learned of our plans when she saws multiple cars parked along the street side. Rebecca isn't one to draw attention to herself and to have a party on her behalf, she almost didn't want to get out of the car. Luckily she conceded and we all ultimately had a very good time.
Taunie Anderson, Rebecca's closest family-friend was very helpful in organizing the entire party. I was adamant on having the party catered and I previously learned that Rebecca's preference was to have a "fiesta." This means both a "party" and suggestive of a Mexican cuisine. So...after several days of research to see if anyone catered Mexican food and to be safe enough to eat without incident, the Red Iguana came to the rescue. Killer Nacho Grande, Chile Verde, Chicken Enchiladas, black beans, Spanish rice, and corn and flour tortillas were on the menu. Dessert included cake, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream. If anyone walked away hungry it was their fault since we had so much food leftover.
I must admit that I was pretty worried about the weather this particular day too. For some nonsensical reason I had assumed it would be a hot and summer day but, in fact it was a rainy and cold day. Luckily for Christmas we were given a patio heater that proved very beneficial.
All in all the party was a success and I think Rebecca has since forgiven me for something she says she really didn't want. Happy Birthday Rebecca! We all love you--especially me!
One other item worth noting (or warning you about), the beans have NEVER been so loaded EVER before.
Rebecca and I have been taught the importance of keeping a family journal and we've come to the conclusion that this may best be accomplished by an Internet blog. We welcome you to our adventures!

Letters to Juliet
Yeah...Becca loved it! It was okay I suppose. It would be kind of nice to visit Italy and experience much of her romance that she has to offer.

Ironman 2
This movie rocks. Need I say more?
Oh...I guess I could say that Rebecca cannot control herself in the presence of Robert Downey Jr.

Happy New Year!
WOW - Is it really 2010!
The last year has been extremely busy. I hope I can keep up with preschool - college courses - and family life this year. I have enjoyed attending the temple this December. I have had the opportunity to go to the Oquirrh, Draper and American Fork temples while Jordan River has been closed for the annual cleaning. I love the temple.
My niece Tatum has come to stay with us while she attends UofU. She is fun to have around. The kids adore her - almost too much! They may drive her to get her own place!
Billy still has his love/hate relationship with the molecular Dept at IMC. We sure wish his supervisor would decide to retire! It's nice that the hospital is so close to home.
My beautiful children are growing up TOO fast. Aysia is turning into a beautiful young lady. She was recently baptized in September. She loves jewelry, make-up and designer clothes (Ahh-she not even a teen yet!) Aidan loves Kindergarten and anything video game related. He has become great friends with his cousin Adison. Alec is a handful. I adore the naughty little guy! He keeps me on my toes! I think Peanut (our puppy) will be house trained before Alec stops being stubborn and decides to use the toilet! Amanda is a teenager. Loves her friends. I wish Taylor lived closer, we'd see Amanda a lot more. She asked for a guitar for Christmas and is very excited to learn to play it. Aysia also has a small guitar and would like to take lessons. Adian should take culinary classes and Alec is my artist. So fun to watch them grow and learn. To see their personalities blossom.
Well - Here's a toast to 2010...Hope it's a successful and Happy NEW YEAR!!!
